How to Create a Restore Point in Windows 11 - A Complete Guide

What is a Restore Point?

System recovery is a feature where windows offer to restore our setting from a specific point/date without losing any data.

However, the setting and the applications installed after the specific date will be changed and deleted.

In this article, I will help you with how you can create a restore point so that in case of any kernel crash or if the operating system got corrupted, you could fix the issue without formatting your system.

How to Create a Restore Point in Windows 11?

Recently Microsoft launched Windows 11, and most of the purchased systems after 2018 with genuine windows 10 are eligible with free Windows 11 updates.

The latest preview build of Windows 11 is automatically creating the restore points.

However, it’s always recommended to create the restore point manually, especially if you are installing third-party software on the system frequently. 

So without further delay, let’s start…

Step1:

Click on the start button, which is located in the middle of the screen, or if you change as I did, you will get that option on the left side of the screen.

Once you get the option shown in the below screenshot, click on the Settings option.

Step2: Post clicking on settings, click on the System option.

Step3: Once you select the system, you have to scroll down to the last, where the About option is available, as shown in the below Image.

Step4: Once you click on the About option, you will find the multiple options shown in the below Image. Click on the  System Protection option.

Step5: By clicking the System Protection, it will open the next tab. Select the drive and click the Configuration button.

Step6: Now, in the next option, select the Turn on system protection radio button. Post that, click on the Ok button.

Note: If you want to adjust the disk space, you can use the system protection.

Step7: Now click on the System Properties window from the top of the tab and click on the Create button.

Step8: In the final step, you have to name the restore point. You can name it anything that you want. Post that, click on the Create button.

Once you give the name for your restore point and click on create, you will get the message on the screen showing the restore point is created successfully.
